A chop saw stand is a great way to provide portability to your chop saw and give you extra space if you need it. The best stands are sturdy, portable, adjustable and easy to use. We’ve reviewed our 5 favourite stands below.
1. Evolution EVOCS2 Chop Saw Stand
Best all-round
|
The new Evolution EVOCS2 is the perfect accompaniment for an Evolution chop saw (our top rated chop saws). This stand is pretty straightforward and has universal fittings that allows you to attach your chop saw to the table top and set up wherever you best see fit.
The table is really solidly build and the stand has a max load of 496lb which is one of the highest rated you can get and more than enough for most jobs. One of the best things about this is also the adjustability. It can be really annoying when you can’t operate your machinery at the perfect height. Sure, any table is better than cutting on the floor but setting that exact height is a great feeling and provides the best ergonomic benefits. This table has telescopic legs which adjust between 23-3/8″ and 32-3/32″ to help you achieve this.
The telescopic legs also help with portability as you can easily collapse them if you wish and fold up the table. You can then pick up the table with the handle on the side and easily transport it to a new workplace or store it.
The main downside of this is that the support arms don’t extend out very far which does not make it a suitable table if you’re cutting long heavy pieces of material and need that extra support. Fortunately, it won’t be an issue for most metal workers, but it’s something to keep in mind especially if you want to cut wood.
Overall this chop saw table is well built, sturdy, portable, collapsible and adjustable. If you have an evolution chop saw and are looking for a stand this will probably be the perfect partner.

2. BORA Portamate PM-4000 Heavy Duty Stand
Best for the money
|
If you want a more budget friendly option, this stand from BORA is a popular choice. One of the most notable features are the extendable arms which reach to a massive 114″. This is a good feature for woodworkers but will be unneeded for most metalworkers. At full extension they’re not that sturdy and sag a bit, but it still offers great value if you want to cut long pieces of wood.
You can see that the legs look quite long and thin, however, they are made from tubular steel and it’s certainly sturdy enough to comfortably work on despite being so lightweight as its max load proves. One downfall is that the height is not adjustable and is set at 36″ which might be a bit high for some people. However, if you just want something cheap to get you off the floor then that probably won’t stop you buying it.
Finally, this table folds up pretty neatly into a folded size of 43-1/2″ x 20″ x 6-1/2″ making it easy to store or carry. Overall it’s a basic stand that that’s sturdy and easy to fold away at a decent price.

3. DEWALT DWX726 Rolling Stand With Wheels
Best with wheels
|
These wheeled stands are great because you don’t have to carry the stand or the chop saw anywhere. You can simply have the chop saw attached with the universal mounting rails and then roll it outside into the yard.
If you want to save room, you can easily lift up the front and fold it up onto its wheels into a compact vertical position and store it out the way, even with the chop saw still attached. Then you can easily tilt and wheels and roll it out from storage when you’re ready to use it. There’s also gas assisted raising and lowering which makes it super easy to just release the pin and click it into place at one of the three different positions: lower, medium or higher depending on your preference.
We’ve given this a five for portability because of the wheels and how easy it is to move the stand even with the saw still attached, however, it is very heavy and you wouldn’t want to carry this. On Amazon it says it weighs 25lbs, but don’t be mistaken this is a whopping 67lbs. It’s made of tubular steel and is a solid piece of kit. It’s a good job it’s got wheels because you certainly wouldn’t want to carry this thing around.
For ease of use we’ve given it a 4.5, however, it does come unassembled which has caused some people difficulty it setting up. Once you’ve got it set up though it’s really easy to use. There should be basic instructions in the box but if not there are plenty of tutorials online to help you set it up and you can contact customer support if you’re struggling.
Overall it’s the best choice if you want something sturdy that you can easily wheel between your different workplaces.

4. DEWALT DWX723 Heavy Duty Miter Saw Stand
|
This stand from DeWalt is a much more heavy duty and stable stand than the BORA one, but is approximately double the price.
The beam on this thing is huge and extends from 5-1/2 ft right up to 16ft to help support really long pieces of material, so it’s really more suited for woodworkers. There is added stability from the leg support and the roller which can be attached along the beam with an adjustable height to match different saws. The arms aren’t perfect and there’s still a bit of slope, but you’ll struggle to find anything better.
The stand is pretty big and it’s unlikely you’ll keep it out all the time so it’s really important that this thing is designed as easy to put up and take down. This stand provides that with legs that flip down and lock easily into place. Once you’re done there’s a series of rear-mounted levers to help safely fold it back up in no time at all.
It also has the mounting brackets included so you can easily secure your saw to the stand. Overall it’s a good choice if you want something you can easily set up in the yard and that’s sturdy enough for really long materials.

5. POWERTEC UT1004 Portable Workbench Station
|
The Powertec portable chop saw stand is a more multi-functioning alternative to the Evolution chop saw stand that also offers greater max width at 66″ roller extension compared to 42″.
One of the cool things about this table is its versatility; The table is flat which means you can easily set it up for a variety of other applications such as grinding or painting. On the table top there are loads of holes which allow universal attachment and the table comes with nuts and bolts to attach your equipment to it. The table top measures 23-1/2″ x 18″, so as long as your equipment is within those parameters you’ll be able to use it with this.
This table is one of the most solid of its type but it isn’t as sturdy as the Evolution stand which is reflected by its considerably lower max load and lighter weight. It is very portable and the legs have simple locking buttons on the side to help it fold up and it can easily be carried by the handle on the side. The legs also include six different height settings ranging from 23-1/2″ to 32-1/4″, so you can set whichever height is best for you for maximum comfort.
Overall this is a sturdy, portable and versatile table that is great for a chop saw but can be used for other tools as well.
